SUPPORT TO WOUNDED WARRIORS AND ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY WITH NON PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS

R&DA is often asked what can companies do to support wounded and active military with the products that they produce.  Rather than answer these individually, it is best to send some information to all of our members.

Each center is in continual need for non perishable, single or small size items at their day rooms, family centers and, treatment areas.  Ideally the items are wrapped individually or easy to serve.  There are many snack type items that are needed always.  The key to support is not to send 100s of cases but rather a few cases on a regular basis.  Several R&DA members do this on a monthly basis.  Probably five cases once per month is ideal.  The wounded and their families greatly appreciate this thoughtfulness and generosity.  I am always amazed, when I visit, that warriors always ask me to let the company who provided the items know their gratitude.  I always answer that it is we who are grateful for their service and patriotism.

The centers are operated by volunteers and each day there are different volunteers.  But it is wonderful to see their eyes open, some times with tears, when a shipment arrives for the center.  The volunteers are too busy to send thank you notes for all of the donations that they receive but please remember their gratefulness is evident every time someone takes one of the items.  There is a little kid in San Antonio who sees his dad at the center after school each day and they share a brownie together as a new family tradition.

Please consider sending an appropriate donation and let R&DA know so we can keep track of the kindness of our members.  You can contact and or just ship your items to the following address ( please note we will be expanding our donation addresses soon):
